Training Introduction

Planit training courses are designed to provide a cost-effective solution to rapid implementation of Alphacam CAD/CAM and Cabinet Vision.

Our training courses are run in our purpose-built training rooms at Coventry, enabling the attendees to take full advantage of the learning environment and absorb as much information as quickly as possible.

Our trainers are fully qualified engineers with over 30 years' shop floor experience. In addition, they also hold City & Guilds 730 / 7407 training qualifications and have over 15 years' CAD/CAM and teaching experience.

Courses are intensive and based upon the achievement of a level of understanding rather than a quantity of work, and the course content is adjusted to suit the general capabilities of trainees. 75% of the Course content is practical work on the PC, so trainees MUST be familiar with computers, with using a mouse and keyboard, and with the Microsoft® Windows™ interface. They should also possess knowledge of the machining environment and understand the relevant cutting technology.

Trainees who are not familiar with computers, their machining environment, and relevant cutting technology, will struggle to absorb the required level of knowledge for a rapid and successful assimilation into their own environment.

It is your responsibility to ensure a suitable time between courses and that the trainees have time to assimilate and put into practice what has already been learnt.

For those trainees who do not already possess this knowledge, attendance on a Basic Windows course is strongly recommended.

Training courses are scheduled throughout the year and places are limited.

8 trainees in Room 1 and 6 trainees in Room 2, with a computer allocated to each trainee.

Additional, On Site and specific training to meet your requirements can also be arranged.

Courses typically run from 9:15am to 4:00pm each day; trainees are requested to arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 am. Refreshments and lunch are provided.

Details of local hotels and location maps are available here.

Details of our regular courses and a provisional monthly schedule of courses are available here. Please contact our training officers to check on course availability and dates. It is recommended that all users attend the 2/3-day standard training course.

Where trainees require training on additional modules, it is only necessary to book for the machining day(s) of the additional standard course(s).
